Picks and Correlations

Picks

The Picks branch holds the project's named stratigraphic horizons. A pick is a name — a formation top, a marker bed, a sequence boundary — that interpretations refer to: a polyline records the pick it traces in its Stratigraphy property, a log pick ties the horizon to a depth in a sedimentary log, and correlation panels join the same pick across logs. Because picks are project-wide, one horizon can be followed across every section, log and polyline in the study.

New on the branch header adds a pick; select one to rename it or change its colour in the Properties panel.

Correlations

The Correlations branch holds named correlations: labelled ties between picks on different logs, made with Correlate Logs on the 2D Log tab (see Correlating logs). The names are also offered as a filter when selecting interpretation objects.

Context menus

Both branch headers show the standard group menu, and each pick or correlation shows the standard item menu. Both menus are listed on the Standard Item and Group Menus page.
