Project Trees Overview

VRGS organizes project data using three complementary tree structures: the Project Data Tree for spatial data objects, the Project Interpretation Tree for geological interpretations, and the Project Collections Tree for shared project resources.

Project Data Tree

Purpose: Displays spatial data (point clouds, meshes, images, etc.)

Location: Left panel, "Data" tab

Key Features:

  • Items have checkboxes for visibility control
  • Right-click for data-specific operations
  • Hierarchical organization with subgroups
  • Individual items can be selected to view properties

Project Interpretation Tree

Purpose: Displays geological interpretations and measurements (orientations, polylines, surfaces, etc.)

Location: Left panel, "Interpretations" tab

Key Features:

  • Items have checkboxes for visibility control
  • Sort by stratigraphy or structural set
  • Right-click for interpretation-specific operations
  • Organize by stratigraphic horizon or structural classification
